ID Connect
General terms & conditions of use
The applicable General Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter “T&Cs”) govern the access and use of the Service ID Connect made available by RENAULT SAS whose registered office is 122-122 bis avenue du Général Leclerc – 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt, registered in Registry of Commerce of Nanterre under No 780 129 987 (hereinafter "RENAULT").
THE USER SHALL READ CAREFULLY THESE TERMS BEFORE AGREEING ON AND ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICES
"Brands" refers to all brands owned by RENAULT or its affiliates, for example RENAULT, DACIA, ALPINE, MOBILIZE.
"Service" refers to a unique identification and/or authentication services (hereinafter “ID Connect” developed, maintained and managed by RENAULT.
"User" refers to a prospective or current Renault customer who has created an ID Connect account for his own use, strictly personal and non-commercial use, not for -profit and direct or indirect use.
The Service consists in creating and using an unique and personal customer account allowing the User to identify and/or authenticate itself with a unique identifier and password to connect to:
- services or applications online or Brands’ vehicles,
- Renault partners wishing to allow authentication to their services using the ID Connect Renault Group service.
The User is required to create an account by means of the registration form. Once the registration is completed, the User will be required by email to validate the account.
Access to the Services are made by completing an email address and password ( “the Identifier”) which are strictly personal and confidential.
The User undertakes to keep his email and password secret and not to disclose them in any form whatsoever to any person. The User is solely responsible for any disclosure to a third party.
The User undertakes to immediately inform RENAULT of any unauthorised use of its ID Connect account and/or its Identifier. The User should ensure they disconnect properly at the end of each session.
If the account is inactive for a period of three (3) years, the User account is closed.
The User undertakes to:
- use the Service exclusively for personal and non-commercial use;
- to inform RENAULT if he is aware of an act of piracy and/or an illegal or non-contractual use of the Service;
- not to reproduce, directly or temporarily and/or partially, all or part of the Service, by any means and in any form;
- not to use any software or processes designed to copy the Service;
- not to adapt, modify, translate, transcribe, compile, decompile, assemble, disassemble all or part of the Service;
- not to export the Service and/or merge it with other computer programs;
- not to create derivative works;
- not to remove any element of identification of copyrights, trademarks or any other indication of reserved rights;
- not to make any use contrary to morality and public order (such as, but not limited to, any content of a racial, pornographic or sexual nature).
RENAULT undertakes to make its best efforts to ensure and secure access and use of the Service.
The Service may be interrupt, suspended or modified at any time in particular in the event of force majeure or the occurrence of an event beyond RENAULT's control, and subject to any breakdowns and maintenance interventions necessary for the proper functioning of the Service or for its improvement (maintenance, software updates of systems, etc.), or malfunctions of (tele)communications network
To the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations, RENAULT does not assume any liability for the use of the Service by the User and do not make any guarantees, express or implied, with respect to the access, speed, performance or quality of the Service or as to the use that would be made by the User of the data and/or information accessible via the Service, or as to the compatibility of the Service for a particular use.
RENAULT does not guarantee the Service will be available or will be free of errors, defects or omissions, nor that it will not be subject to damage or attacks, in particular viruses, that could lead to malfunctions, service interruptions, breakdowns or losses of data or information.
The User is responsible for taking all appropriate measures to protect its own data and/or software stored on his equipment (laptop, mobile or tablet) used to access to the Service.
In any event, RENAULT will be released from any liability:
- in the event of non-compliance by the User with these T&Cs;
- in the event of a malfunction of the Service due to a cause, voluntary or involuntary, attributable to the User or attributable to a third party or to a malicious act, arising from a malfunction of a software, smartphone/tablet, interface or any other product or supply of the User;
- in the event of malfunction and/or failure of the User's communication network, whatever the cause;
- in case of any direct or indirect damage arising from the use of the Service in particular while driving;
- in case of legislative or regulatory changes affecting the Service;
- in the event of non-compliance with the terms of use specific to applications and/or websites published and edited by third parties, or of any non-performance or partialperformance of obligations by third-party.
RENAULT cannot be held responsible for the content (in particular texts, videos, images, photographs, etc.) and/or products and/or services offered by applications and/or websites published and edited by third parties.
In the context of the use of the Service, the personal data of the User is processed for the purposes described hereunder.

Processing of personal data of the User for the purpose of account creation and management of the unique authentication to the sites/applications of the RENAULT Brands
To allow the User to create an account to access to the sites/applications of the Brands and to authenticate to the sites/applications of the Brands with this unique account, the following personal data are processed:
- Last name,
- First name,
- Email address,
- Password.
Once the User is authenticated, the User can consult the personal data they have provided for the account creation.
Processing of personal data of the User for the purpose of unique authentication to the sites/applications of RENAULT’s partners
If the User wants to use the Service to authenticate to a partner of RENAULT, his consent will previously be collected before sharing his personal data with the partner. For any future authentication, the consent of the User will not be requested any more.
At any time on his account, the User can consult and withdraw the consent(s) he has given to the various partners of RENAULT.
If the User has given his consent the following personal data will be shared with the partner(s), because it is necessary to authenticate the User on the partner’s sites/applications:
- Email address,
- Language preferences
The Application, the Content, the Vehicles are protected by intellectual property rights and are the property of RENAULT or third parties having authorised RENAULT to use them.
Any reproduction, representation, use or modification, by any means whatsoever and on any medium whatsoever, of all or part of the Service without having obtained the prior authorisation of RENAULT, is strictly prohibited and constitutes an infringement offence.
The User acquires no property rights of any kind whatsoever on know-how, corporate names, commercial names, trademarks, copyrights, logos, patents and any other intellectual property rights related to RENAULT.
The applicable T&Cs are those in effect at the date of connection and use of the Service by the User.
RENAULT reserves the right to modify and update these T&Cs without notice, at any time and without prior notice to Users.
If necessary, the User will be required to make changes and updates as soon as they are published on the Service, it being the User's responsibility to consult the T&Cs in force at the time of each connection.
The T&Cs, and all rights and obligations generated in connection with the use of the Service or relating thereto are subject to Irish Law and are interpreted and applied in accordance with it.
Any dispute relating to the access and use of the Service must first be the subject of an attempt at amicable settlement between the parties before being submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of Irish Courts.
No waiver
The fact that one of the parties does not invoke a clause of these T&Cs shall not be interpreted as a temporary or definitive waiver of the benefit of the provision in question which will remain in force.
Nullity of a clause
If one or more provisions of these T&Cs are declared invalid, void or unwritten pursuant to applicable regulations, changes or following a final decision of a competent court, the other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Force Majeure
RENAULT cannot be held responsible for any event that has the characteristics of force majeure and results in a malfunction of the Service.
The following instances of force majeure are included, in addition to those usually retained by the applicable national jurisprudence, governmental and legal restrictions and modifications; computer failures and telecommunications blockages, failure of servers or communication networks or computer malfunctions ("bugs", viruses, malware, intrusions).
